Ok, yeah, this is long.. Couldn’t help it! 😆
I purchased ‘Her Enemy’s Promise’ the very same day Simone told us it was out. I was so excited it was finally here. Then I sat there and stared at my Kindle for two days, afraid to crack it open and read. Did you ever want something SO strongly, but hesitated because you knew you would love it and that you’d be sooo sad after it was over with & done?
I was in premature mourning for the end of the Triad and their loving adventures… But now, Simone, you’re saying this WON’T be the end? I won’t have to go thru the 5 stages of grief over James, Charlotte & Michael?!
I hope that’s a promise because I love all these wonderful characters SO much. (Sigh – I sometimes fantasize they’re my neighbours, live down the street from me, and I occasionally pop in for a cup of that asphalt-paving coffee and a chat… Ok, maybe there’s a little moaning going on in the background.)
You really had me twisted around with all the plot curveballs. The title had me… “I promised you I was going to put a stop to this. And I’m going to.” It’s a little brain-warping…
But there was SO much more you conjured up in this “end of series” that I LOVED! I laughed out loud at some of it (the stolen dinner, the Ice & Fire reference, etc). And I got all gooey over how you used the nickname Peanut.
And I cried, too: cried anxious tears for their predicaments, and tears of happiness for the gratifying and emotional ending. I’m so happy, not grieving at all!!

5 Stars: What just happened??? Be still my ever stuttering heart! This finale is a whopper. A never seen it coming. I am gobsmacked and amazed. I have really enjoyed this series of books and this is an amazing wrap up. Charlotte is ever blessed with her two husbands and Richard and Elizabeth are so lucky to be part of the family. The emergence of Mitch into the story was a nice full circle. If you have followed this series you don't want to miss this. 5 Stars: I'm trying to swallow the lump in my throat so I can write this review. This book is one that just fell into place, like when you shake the bottom hem of the sheet and it just floats across the bed to lay flat without any wrinkles where something could hide. All the answers you've been looking for have been answered. Are there happily ever afters? Yes, I'd say so. Simone Leigh has tied things up very neatly while leaving avenues open to continue with the story if her characters continue to lead. There is one that I've shed a few tears over because I've developed a soft spot for the character. And my personal hop is they get a happily every after as well, but that's for another day and at Ms. Leigh's discretion. This was a truly erotic, gut wrenching, heart warming book. As always, it's earned it's 5* review.
5 Stars: It ends here and you won’t be disappointed! Simone is one of my top ten authors and I absolutely loved her Charlotte series! You will not want to put this book down so you can have the answers to all the plot twists in this final book! The ending is awesome with lots of steam and you will want more of Charlotte. Please Simone!
5 Stars: This is the final book in the Charlotte’s Search series and it didn’t disappoint, in fact it was the opposite, it was amazing. The final questions were answered and we got to see various people in different ways, I was surprised by some. It’s very difficult to say too much without giving things away but Charlotte got everything she wanted and more and Klempner, well you can make up your own mind but I saw a different side to the man. Well done Simone, I have loved every single page of Charlotte’s Search and I am sad that it had to end. As they say though, “all good things must come to an end” Fantastic series a must read.
5 Stars: Wow! While I am reading this fascinating book I am amazed at how beautifully and tragically Simone tied together most of the threads of the previous books, some I had completely forgotten. All I could think was oh please don't let this be the end of our family's story. The series had added a level of suspense and now it's really become a thriller. This book is better than anyone could have expected as it was such a huge challenge to get all of the pieces together.. Well done Ms. Leigh. I loved it and can't recomend it highly enough . Any fan of this series will want to read this one as soon as possible! You are going to love it!
