Seasons

A Poem

Summer’s Over

If you follow my newsletters or my Facebook page, you probably know that I live in Spain. And everyone says ‘Oh, lucky you. Living in sunny Spain.”

And all of that is true of course, except that I live up in the mountains, and when the weather cools, like mountains everywhere, it turns misty here.

And that kind of brings me to my point. Mt last home in England was also in a gorgeous spot, set in eighty acres of common and flat as a billiard table, just above the River Severn flood plain. And we had amazing mists there too. The photo below is one I took myself one morning when I was up letting out the chickens one winter’s dawn.

And in romantic mood, I wrote the poem too.

I do hope you enjoy it. If you do, please do leave me a comment.

Happy Reading 🙂

Simone

SEASONS

To everything there is a season
And a time to every purpose under the heaven

A time to touch, And a time to be touched
A time for lust and a time for love
A time to sleep, And a time waking, to reach for the one loved,
A time to smile, And a time, smiling, to be loved.
A time to speak, And a time, in silence, to let the eyes speak.

A time to laugh, A time for joy
A time for thought And a time for play.
A time for speech. And a time when, distanced, words must suffice,
A time to embrace, for bodies to be close
A time for the shining passion of the physical,
And a time for the lust of the body to express the heart’s cry

A time to be apart
A time to be together

And that time is to come

If you are going to reference anything, let it be Pete Seeger. And a great segue as well: with me, it’s always been music and words But we can invert, too…xox
